Interview with Jean-Christian Georgeon

Jean-Christian has worked in the space industry since the beginning of his career. He has worked on various constellations and complex communication systems.
Besides the technical challenges, the most interesting part of his job is the feeling he gets when he explains the RSN solution and its capabilities to customers, suppliers or partners.

"These interactions always energise me. The feedback tells me that we are on the right track and that our system is not only a great piece of technology, but also opens up completely new possibilities for companies and governments."

Senior System Architect
Programme Team

What was the reason that you decided to join Rivada?

What’s your role in the Programme Team?

What is currently your biggest challenge at
Rivada?

When I was contacted by Rivada, I immediately knew that the solution and concept they were proposing was a game changer. It didn't take me long to decide to join the adventure.

As Lead Architect for the ground segment of Rivada Space Networks, I am responsible for the definition and selection of its components to provide the best customer experience while optimising and securing all the resources used to deliver the service. I also prepare the operational phase by defining the teams and all the facilities.

You live in Malaga after
living in Munich for quite some time.

There is certainly more than one! But what moves me is our ability to find new solutions and deal with challenges one after the other in a great environment and with a very talented team. It is great to see that the whole company has the same goal, no matter what role each of us has.

Rivada is also a new challenge for me personally, having moved to Spain after working in France and Germany. Working remotely has always been natural as systems are built from solutions coming from many different locations, but the ground segment based on cloud infrastructure and our team set-up has made it even more normal. This also helps me with my work-life balance, while having the support of my family and being able to adapt my work to the time zone when needed.
